To highlight particularly egregious compulsory unionism abuses, the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation has established the following Special Projects:
The Foundation has recently developed a Charter School Initiative to provide resources to charter school employees. As a charter school teacher or employee, you are entitled to certain constitutional and statutory rights, including the right to resist an unwanted union from encroaching on your workplace and the right to refrain from union membership.

Because employees increasingly vote against unionization, Big Labor has developed new techniques to impose forced unionization on employees from the “top down.” Key elements of Top Down organizing include “neutrality agreements” and “card check” campaigns.
To counter this latest assault on employee free choice, the Foundation has established a special project on Top Down organizing.
The National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation’s Freedom of Conscience Project was created to protect employees of faith from having their religious freedoms violated by the injustices of compulsory unionism.
Federal civil rights laws, as well as laws in some states, protect employees from being forced to financially support a union if doing so conflicts with the individual’s sincerely held religious beliefs. However, employees often find that when they attempt to exercise this right, union officials ignore their request or create illegal hurdles before the employee’s “religious objector” status is granted, and their dues are diverted to a mutually agreeable charity. When employees find that union officials have infringed upon this basic right, the Foundation’s Freedom of Conscience Project stands ready to give free legal assistance to victimized workers.
Concerned Educators Against Forced Unionism (CEAFU), was established in 1975 to take dead aim at one of the most serious threats to academic freedom in America today — compulsory unionism.
CEAFU has been at the forefront in the battle against forced unionism abuses in public education for 30 years. It is continuing to educate America’s teachers about the coercive agenda of the National Education Association and American Federation of Teachers’ hierarchies.
