Today, the National Right to Work Foundation announced it will file a formal complaint with the Federal Election Commission on behalf of two Alabama educators and itself against the National Education Association teacher union and two NEA affiliates for an illegal political fundraising scheme by the union hierarchy:
Washington, DC (January 13, 2009) – The National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation announced today it will file a formal complaint with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) asking it to investigate charges made by two Alabama educators who discovered a union scheme to divert their money into the National Education Association’s (NEA) political action committee (PAC).
Claire Waites, the chair of the science department, and Dr. Jeanne Fox, an assistant principal, both work at Daphne Middle School in Bay Minette, Alabama. Waites and Fox are both members of the Baldwin County Education Association (BCEA), Alabama Education Association (AEA), and NEA teacher unions.
In July 2008, Waites and Fox attended the NEA’s annual convention in Washington, DC, as delegates of the BCEA. By telephone, BCEA union president Saadia Hunter informed Waites and Fox that contributions to a “children’s fund” in their names were made from money included in their expense reimbursements for their trip to the convention.

NEA Scandal
Great article, another hand caught in the cookie jar. Does it really make any difference though. I'm sure if this action does get investigated it will be white washed and swept under the rug, like so many other incidents of graft and corruption in the past few months. You have to remember that our country's political system is now being conducted by the Chicago uderworld. Accountability only holds true for conservatives and others with high moral values.

Frustration with political situation with both parties
Amen. It must change now. What happened to the novel idea that the representatives of government "represent" the people not their own personal and political interests and ambitions. Their arrogance astounds more people every day. How about clean house and have term limits?

We already have term limits in place,it is called voting. If americans would get off their duff and exercise their right to vote a lot of this crap would not happen,but as americans get lazier and find reasons not to vote this problem just gets worse
We need term limits!
I don't buy that being able to vote is as powerful as term limits would be. Voting, as we have seen, is subject to so much corruption. Term limits would not give them enough time to settle in and make it a life time job. It could and should be looked upon as service to country. Americans are NOT lazy.

I thought about voting politicians out as term limits too, but you have to look at the big picture-some parts of the country like New England and California will not vote out career politicians! Ted Kennedy had to die to get him out of the Senate and it's the same for Robt. Byrd!! Why should the rest of America suffer if we vote out career corruptors and some states are married to their politicians and cronies? The answer is TERM LIMITS for all!! Two Senate terms and mandatory limit of four house terms, period!! Turn'em all out, if you've got good people in the House, let'em run for the Senate, and if a Senator is that good let'em run for President!
States Rights/Voters Rights
I am so glad to see that there are other people out there who believe the same principles that I do and have seen trampled on in this country for the past 6 months. This Congress and Elected Administration should be ashamed of what they have done and are doing; refusing to acknowledge that "We Are The People" and they work for us. They took an Oath of Office to uphold these rights and have turned a blind eye.
My sister and I have felt such a strong belief as you have expressed and in fact needed to do something in some small way; we have produced Red, White & Blue Silicone Wristbands with "We The People" on them and wear them constantly to show our support for the American people; we have been selling them to all who want to show there solidarity daily as well, not just at the Tea Parties. We are donating a portion of the proceeds to the Wounded Warrior Project in the name of our forgotten Military, who have fought tirelessly, sometimes to their death, to keep us free and safe.
We stand with you and will do whatever we can to further the cause that our Constitution should be followed and that we will not stand for anyone to take away our rights and beliefs. We need to take back control of our government. I will write and email all of my Congressmen and State Representatives and demand that we be heard. I will also continue to do my part at the Tea Party Movements and spreading the word with Signs and Wristbands that "We Are The People".

Rule Of Law
Since the beginning of these United States we have been under the rule of law, not the rule of man. There is no provision in our Constitution for one man to become so strong as to rule like a king. We have seen in this president a pattern of pressuring and intimidation of corporations and banks to bend to his version of the law, and corruption in the area of voter fraud on a grand scale. It is time to clean house and bring order back to the whole system. We do need to stand up and be heard. We have that chance on July 4th. There will be Tea Parties all over America. Find out where your local Tea Party is and join all the rest of the citizens in sending a message to Obama and those Senators and Representatives who don't want to listen. We will not go away!!!
The time is now, and the choice wiil be ours and that of the rule of law rather than the rule of man.

The New York Democrats, would not stand to Pledge Allegiance to Our Flag! I think it is time we see the reverse side of this situation? Most of your Major Cities are in Ruins? Yes, I will continue to complain to my elected representatives for all the good it will do, You see, my congressman is Barney Frank and my senators are John "Vietnam" Kerry and Teddy "Chappaquidic" Kennedy. Does anyone think that any of these clowns care what we think? They are perfect example of why we need term limits for politicians.

Talk about taxation without representation!
I taught school for several years, and actually joined the union because I felt that I needed the legal protection it offered. My district teacher's association is a good group, and tries to do what it was chartered for. My state group is more liberal, but still not radical. But the idea that part of my dues went to the NEA made me sick. I didnt know until after I left the teaching profession that I didnt have to allow any of my dues to go to the NEA. I beleive that if this fact was better known, they would lose much of their membership and, consequently, money.

No truer words were ever spoken. This country absolutely needs term limits for house and senate members as well, but it will probably never happen. That's why we will always have the corruption in politics that we have, because most people are too stupid too even know what is going on, and they will just keep electing the same crooks, like the Mass. clowns.

I believe that after a month in office you can tell if a person elected to represent the voters will indeed work for the voters. If he/she fails to produce that person should be fired by the voters of their district. John Carey who wanted to be a hero in VietNam AND was not and he is still not. I did not fight in Korea for 3 years, just to see "The Political Elite" turn my country into a stinking Socialist State! I have never seen so many undesireables "running" the goverment of this once great country.

Honesty and special interest - or should I say the lack of is one reason why this country is on a downhill sloap from which it may never recover. I am a Republican and a conservative one. However, I am a person that warns of the danger of one party in control of all levels of government (Executive - Legislative). Because it leads to less discussion. Too many deals and too much corruption. I must first say before we are Democrats or Republicans we are Americans and most Americans are honest and hard working people and do not want the type of people who are in control of our Government that we have. At least when one party does not have total power they can watch each other. I worked for the government and I saw many instances of fraud waste and abuse. From local government employees stealing pens and pencils, to spending an allocated budget on a big bash called an education meeting so that extra money would not be turned in. I saw the Government program of Medicare go into effect with the promise of it being closely audited for fraud. There were millions spent on fraud that was never even caught. So much for the government word on audits. I am horrified that so much of the congress votes have already been bought on Government Health Insurance even the so called Blue Dog Democrats. Deals and more deals. I even see that move on is now collecting funds to stock congressional meetings with supporters of the Doctor Obalma Health Care Plan (a plan that congress made sure they would not be subject to) and it seems one they care not to read about. Even though they get direct pay of 160,000 per year. Not counting money for staff - travel - office space - postage. When the country or should I say still is in dire straights - did they take a cut in pay. Sure did not. They continued to get all they could get. I am warning you do not let them control your Health Care. They will say many things - put on great spins - and use every dishonest tactic to get it through. Remember the basic rule how can you tell the president and congress is lying? - their lips are moving. But basically a government run health care program is a disaster. They say they will never put a limit on your healthcare? Another lie. Aziekel Emanual (the new healthcare czar) already has a plan and a chart drawn up on how to limit healthcare. 0-15 and 55 years old and on healthcare will be severly rationed. And to boot the plan will not save taxpayor money the CFO has already stated that fact and they represent neither party. If you value your dollar - and if you value your life contact your elected congressman or senator and tell him a strong no. Keep contacting and keep writing. If you do nothing the plan will pass and you will pay the price. Your Congressman is your representative to Washington - not the other way around. Make sure he know that also. Let him know that you vote.
Unions and their greasy thumbprints
This is not the first time, labor unions have a history of dishonest political influences coast to coast. People should be more distrustful where the members contributions go and for what purpose. Accountability must be mandatory. Audits, audits, audits.
