Privacy Policy
National Right to Work Legal Defense and Education Foundation, Inc. (“NRTWF”), the non-profit owner of nrtw.org, values and respects the privacy of those who use nrtw.org and any other web site owned or maintained by NRTWF (“website”). When you visit our website, you may provide some information to us or NRTWF may collect some information from you. This privacy policy addresses how we gather, use, and protect that information. By using the website, you consent to the processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy, now and as amended by us.
THE LAWS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND THE COMMONWEALTH OF VIRGINIA GOVERN THIS WEBSITE AND POLICY. BY USING THIS WEBSITE, YOU AGREE TO SUBMIT TO THE JURISDICTION AND VENUE OF A COURT OF COMPETENT JURISDICTION LOCATED IN THE COUNTY OF FAIRFAX, VIRGINIA OR THE CITY OF ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA TO RESOLVE ANY DISPUTES ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS WEBSITE OR THIS PRIVACY POLICY.
Information We Collect About You
Information You Provide. In using the website, you may voluntarily provide your personally identifiable information (“PII”) such as your name and contact information (including mail address, zip code, email address, and telephone number) when you request information or legal aid assistance and your credit card information as well as your PII when you choose to donate to NRTWF. This information is needed to fulfill your requests.
Information Automatically Collected From You. We also may collect anonymous aggregate data about your use of our website through various tools (i.e. cookies, third-party services) that automatically obtain information from your computer or mobile or electronic device about website performance and visitor engagement. This information may include your Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, which NRTWF does not link to any PII (meaning your session is anonymous to NRTWF) unless you choose to provide the site with PII, the time of visit, your general geographic location, your browser type, your operating system, the pages you view on the website, the pages you view immediately before and after you access the website, and the search terms you enter on the website as well as how many users have viewed a specific webpage. NRTWF collects IP addresses for administration purposes, one of which is to prevent certain countries’ IP addresses from accessing our site. This information allows us to recognize you and personalize your experience if you return to the website, and to improve the website and the services we provide.
NRTWF also may use third-party service providers, such as Google Analytics, that may use cookies or similar technology to collect information about your online activities across this and other sites over time for non-advertising purposes. To learn more about how Google Analytics collects and processes data from sites or apps that use it and what options you have regarding control of this data collection, please visit www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/.
How We Use Cookies
A “cookie” is a small text file that NRTWF’s web server saves on your computer or mobile or electronic device using your browser that is then accessed when you return to the website. Cookies can neither read any other files on your computer or mobile or electronic device nor damage your computer or mobile or electronic device.
NRTWF may use two different types of cookies—session-based and persistent cookies. Session-based cookies expire at the end of a browser session and terminate once you close your browser. Persistent cookies remain on your computer or mobile or electronic device until you remove them and are used to provide website analytics. Most browsers are initially set to accept cookies. If you prefer, you can set your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when cookies are being sent. You can also manually delete all cookies, including persistent ones, within your browser’s privacy setting menu. You can learn more about cookies here https://allaboutcookies.org/ and here https://www.godaddy.com/resources/skills/what-are-website-cookies.
If you reject or block cookies from the website, the website may not function as intended.

NRTWF may use the PII that you provide (1) to respond to your request for free legal aid that you submit through our “Request Free Legal Aid” page or send to us by email; (2) to respond to your inquiries that you submit through our “Contact Us” page or send to us by email; (3) to respond to your request to receive updates through our “Receive Updates” page; or (4) to process your donation request. We use the automatically collected data that we obtain through tools for our administrative purposes, such as to improve and administer the website as discussed above and to identify the topics and subjects on the site in which visitors are interested.
NRTWF will never sell or share the PII you provide to any third party for the third party’s own marketing or commercial purposes. Nor will NRTWF disclose your PII to a third party unless NRTWF is required to do so to fulfill the purposes for which you provided your PII or by a court order, for its own marketing purposes, to enhance its ability to contact you, for any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the PII, or with your consent.
You may unsubscribe from the list to Receive Updates at any time by contacting us by e-mail, telephone, or online contact form. In addition, an option to opt-out from an electronic communication is provided in that communication and is performed automatically at your request.

While NRTWF takes precautions, please note that no data security protections are ever guaranteed to be 100% secure.
Children and Privacy
NRTWF’s website is a noncommercial website intended for a general audience and does not have any section directed specifically to children. We do not knowingly collect PII from children under 13, and will delete such information if we discover that it has been collected or received without parental or guardian consent.
