Union operatives frequently rely on <a href=\"\/en\/press\/2012\/04\/breaking-news-hotel-union-faces-fede\">threats<\/a>, <a href=\"\/en\/press\/2012\/05\/union-bosses-levy-retaliatory-strike-05092012\">intimidation<\/a>, and even <a href=\"\/b\/nr_25.php\">violence<\/a> to keep independent-minded workers in line and deter businesses from using nonunion labor.
