{"id":632,"date":"2010-02-03T12:11:45","date_gmt":"2010-02-03T12:11:45","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2020-01-22T17:43:29","modified_gmt":"2020-01-22T22:43:29","slug":"big-government-big-labor-s-bread-and-butter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nrtw.org\/es\/blog\/big-government-big-labor-s-bread-and-butter\/","title":{"rendered":"Big Government: Big Labor&#8217;s \u00abBread and Butter\u00bb"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<p>\nThe National Institute for Labor Relations Research (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nilrr.org\/\">NILRR<\/a>) <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nilrr.org\/node\/101\">just released<\/a> a new study detailing the disturbing trend of the forced unionization of government workers.\u00a0 In it, NILRR <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nilrr.org\/node\/101\">points out<\/a> that in 2008 and the first 11 months of 2009, unionized private-sector workers lost their jobs at more than double the rate than their private-sector non-unionized colleagues.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nMeanwhile, for the first time ever, more than half of our nation&#8217;s government workers are now under union boss monopoly bargaining control and the number is growing with disastrous consequences:\n<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\n\tWhile today 51% of unionized workers nationwide are government employees, as recently as 1981 there were more than twice as many unionized private-sector workers as their were unionized public-sector workers.
