Effective immediately, I am not a member of Operating Engineers Local 324 or its affiliates. If your records show me as a member, I hereby resign that membership, effective immediately. <\/p>\n
Effective immediately, I also revoke any dues checkoff authorization I may have signed to allow money to be deducted from my salary and paid to Operating Engineers Local 324 or any of its affiliates. Now that there is no longer a collective bargaining agreement in effect between the union and my employer, federal law allows me to revoke my dues checkoff authorization at any time. The company must cease deducting any further union dues from my salary.<\/p>\n
Effective immediately, I revoke any authorization and assignment form I may have signed to allow the Trustees of the Operating Engineers\u2019 Local 324 Vacation and Holiday Fund of Michigan (\u201cFund\u201d) to deduct money from my portion of that Fund and remit the money to the Union for union dues, working dues, travel service dues, initiation fees, hiring hall referral fees, etc. The trustees must cease any further deductions and remittance of any amount to the Union.<\/p>\n
If you refuse to accept this letter as both an effective resignation and an immediately effective dues checkoff revocation, I ask that you promptly inform me, in writing, of exactly what steps you claim I must take to effectuate my resignation and\/or revocation of the dues checkoff authorization and\/or authorization and assignment form, and promptly send me a copy of any membership or dues checkoff authorization you believe I have signed.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
