Big Labor Unions & their Union dues

Question:

Didn't the current President- Mr. Obama Get (millions of dollars) from the Big Car “Labor Union Bosses" as his major financial Support for his campaign- when he ran for President?

Wasn't all of that money paid for- BY the Unions (weekly dues) that all the MEMBERS are FORCED to pay? Isn’t that illegal?
