Union Myths

Yes, VA has a right to work law as well as legal abortions. Doesn't make either moral or right. Abortion kills babies.

You might be interested to know that UAW Local 663 was an endorser of the pro-abortion “March for Women’s Lives” in Washington on April 9, 1995. It was also reported by The American Spectator in its April 1993 edition, in an article about the pro-abortion PAC, “Emily’s List,” that:

“In fact, so tight is the relationship between Emily's List and these liberal PACs that PACs ranging from the Machinists and the United Auto Workers to the National Education Association make direct contributions to Emily's List.”

The right to work law requires Unions to represent all of the workers covered by the contract regardless of whether they pay or not.

That is hardly the case. The unions routinely insist on being the “exclusive bargaining agent” for all of the employees in the unit. When attempts have been made in the past to eliminate this monopoly bargaining provision from the law, the unions have opposed it.

The only effect of a Right-to-Work law is to free workers from the burden of supporting an unwanted or ineffective union.
