Today, President Barack Obama issued two deeply disturbing executive orders as his first big payback to Big Labor.
Flanked by union bosses at a White House ceremony, Obama said “Welcome back to the White House” and announced sweeping measures which give his Secretary of Labor the power to blackball non-union contractors targeted by union organizers.
With federal outlays rising dramatically as part of attempts to “stimulate” the economy, the number of firms with federal contracts are expected to increase dramatically in the coming months. Nearly 93 percent of America's private-sector workforce has not chosen to unionize, so union officials hope to leverage these federal funds in a full court press to corral millions more workers into forced-dues-paying union ranks.
One of the Obama executive orders hands his Secretary of Labor virtually unchecked power to blacklist those firms which union officials complain are supposedly violating federal labor laws. The Secretary of Labor is expected to leverage DOL's new powers against companies not agreeing to grease the rails for coercive union organizing drives or companies not ceding to uneconomic or abusive union-boss demands.
This new blacklisting power has enormous implications for the expenditure of taxpayer dollars, to say nothing of individual employee rights.
The other federal executive order effectively bars contractors from sharing truthful, non-coercive information with their employees about the downsides of unionization.
Taken together, the two executive orders go well beyond actions by President Clinton to force employees of federal contractors into union collectives, and they could turn the U.S. Department of Labor into a giant, taxpayer-funded extension of the union organizing wing at AFL-CIO headquarters.
Meanwhile, Labor Secretary-designate Hilda Solis continues to stonewall important questions about freedom in the workplace.

The Obama presidency and Union bosses
I am in a union. I was told by my union to forget about petty issues like abortion, massive government spending, liberal programs which will undermine marriage, give special rights to queers, corruption, or whatever. No I was to support Obama because he would fix it so the union would get us better contracts and more money for the union. Well, it is coming to pass. I did not vote for Obama. By the time he is done, everyone will say they did not vote for him. Obama will destroy the very fabric of the nation. It will take 40 years to bring the country out of the depression that is coming. This thanks to people who voted for him because his father had pigmentation in his skin. The man has not a honest bone in his body. Let the games begin.
dumb ass
ol nobama is only going to take this country into a full blow ression-- worse choice the country could of ever made.
EFCA-Another Big Labor Payout?
To Nick, Patrick, Will, Anthony and Stefan:
I am an avid supporter of your Foundation and cause and I try to read your news and blog as often as I can. As a Philadelphia native, I've grown up seeing what union bosses can do to a city. Considering our nation's state of affairs, I deeply worry that we are about to see what union bosses will do to the country. And I assure you, none of it will be positive.
Recently, on WPHT 1210 AM radio (specifically Dom Giordano's show at 6pm), a lot of discussion has been going on about this so-called Employee Free Choice Act and how it will affect the city. But, what listeners are not hearing, is how it will affect our future as a whole...nationwide.
I hope that you might take the time to consider speaking to this radio station. Philadelphians need to hear the truth too. Despite being such a union town, I know there are folks like me who know that the EFCA would be just another Big Labor payout and detrimental to our personal liberty.
Keep up the great work and please continue to get the word out.
screw you. You have your
screw you. You have your head stuck so far up your ass, I find it hard you can see anything.
I prefer God's union above all else
Interesting comment by stuck up his a--... Allow me to define a few things here. Firstly, I came from the core of one of the most wealthy localized unions in this great country, twice I have been in different unions, twice I have been sodomized by the core of it all. There were respectable traits the unions stood for, most of all, protection of inaleinable rights each worker should always have, not all right, not all wrong. I can tell you their first value is protection to the core, till death do you part...by the way stuck up your a**, you tread upon the soles that allow your opinionnon-union and unionized alike and, it will be your money first they take and protect you last. In all I have known, was core trained, viewed, witnessed and felt, I 1000% can tell you it is about money in super portions paid bulk by this country, our each by taxed support, handed to the organized labor don, who in turn, believes he has more money than God. My question to the Don is, why would God ever need money firstly, and what do you think it will buy once that last day is upon us? well back to mr head in his a**, it amazes me your courage and lack of typid behind the screen. amazing to me how spineless the core of the union armies are..Worker rights yes, Worker training absolutely, rights of unions to utilize intimidations, steal peoples capital they've invested for their lifes, ruin people because they can, cheat a dime from a million people becasue they have a cause and continue breeding internal corruption while this country attempts to again take down corporate america, absolutly NOT, so head up your a**, someday, there will be no guido controlled unions shipping your and my dues over to ireland and else where to supoprt the evil one and his doers. There will finally be a government that takes the best traits of both labors in america and combines them. In fact, I hear some interesting things on the hill, being, it is already in beta test synthesis mode for USLD to form an independantly ( unionized and non-union scientists) scientifically controlled study of our actual tax dollars being applied toward a government program to take back over the actual labor unions so as to form a centrally controlled human /labor rights governmentally controlled human rights and laor rights department... Once the Fed gets their fingers wrapped around guido and the Don's undeserved funds, there will be no letting go of, other than the corruptions, murders, intimidation, illegal cash flows and most of all, all the guido's, all the Don's and who ever the evil one sitting at the top of the money stake is are gone... then, we'll all be equal...Until BO/ Obama is able to feel his spine, stand as a real man, bring both sides into harmony and most of all, realize that, who has paid his way to be there on there behalf rather than as the originating documents to this great country meant, unions top the list in special interest groups on the hill and it will be not unions, but those who control unions, those who corrupt within unions, those who slather themselves in destruction of his fellow brother that will be the ones who are in the end, dealt a lethal blow for all time. Yes, I was once a beleive in the training and protections. I am now a beleiver that it is all a facade in the interests of the evil one and his doers, willing to gain merrit by what ugliness, what wrongdoing they can contribute to their superior guido and don's. I know, most specifically for at least one top union prez going to prison, all seem to have a willingness to pull the sheets over the union workers eyes whilst they have a good mile high clib of their own, deserving of nothing, only God's wrath... Now mr head in ur a**, maybe it's time you grab yoru shoulders and attempt a real spinal effort to remove your head from your reareair, of course, that gutimus maximus for you bro casue your too busy finding a brain cell to write anything more than a few less than narly words, so I think you spinless however, I think your still a misguided brother of life. paying union guido or not. For me, selection for my employees is what is right and it is what is offered them, still, they too can take a reduction in pay to be union so they can send off their hard worked cash to some mother in ireland who feeds his evil little kids souls...
headouttaass bro, this is america, and nothing says we gotta all be guido union paying members...otherwise, who really runs this country ? or may I say this, it is the ideaolgy of who really runs this country that great changes need to take place and those changes happen from the people not the governments, not the unions, not the intimidators of these times we live, and not you mr headinass because when it is, I can promise you, many others including myself will be in search of the free country we beleived in, outside these borders the unions want to control, so hang your hardhat, bag your PPE, grab your life and make a real difference of worth in the oxygen you consume... after all, someone had a choice for you to be here, otherwise, we wouldn't be having this rebuttal..
congrates to "head in a** guy" I hope when your unemployeed or retired that those funds are still there and not sitting in some guido's hands over a failed union casino project investment that guido personally buys as insolvent for pennies on the union workers invested dollars...quit intellectual, all could agree...
